Happy Anniversa..Wii

Today is our anniversary, and we decided that if Jason got a paid internship this summer we would make the splurge! We have both wanted a Wii for quite a while. We have actually had it for about 3 weeks now (When you see one, you buy it.) but tonight it is coming out of the box!!!! I am so excited. LOVE YOU BABE!!!

Spread the WORD!

"Now, may I ask that you join the conversation by participating on the internet to share the gospel and to explain in simple and clear terms the message of the Restoration. Most of you already know that if you have access to the internet you can start a blog in minutes and begin sharing what you know to be true..." Elder M. Russell Ballard

I have added my testimony to my blog, in hope of spreading what I know to be true. And to help others to know what I stand for, and believe in. I encourage each of you to take time to write down your testimony. Whether it be on your blog, or in your journal. I hope each of you find the time to ponder and express yourself sometime soon.

Speaking of spreading the word...... I have the most ADORABLE little brother coming home from his mission in just a few short months. October to be exact! He has been such a wonderful missionary and example to me while on his mission. Here are a few recent pictures of the handsome dude! P.S. Girls watch out, he is single and up for the taking (in 2 and a half months)!

All about Porter!

What Porter has been up to the last week or so....
Porter loves to get in our closet, put on our shoes, and walk around. But this was his best pick yet!
After his nap the other day, he decided it was time for a snack. He took it upon himself to get in the pantry and he found our favorite snack!

He was so excited for daddy to get off the "Choo-Choo" that he ran down the sidewalk and face-planted it!! The poor kid got a big scrape on the end of his nose and a big bruise on the bridge of it. And his upper lip got a taste of it too!
And who says a bath without water isn't fun? After the tub had completely drained, Porter refused to get out of the tub. He was in there for a good 10 minutes longer. It all ended when I saw "some yellow water", then it was time to come out!
Porter you are the cutest, happiest, smartest boy I know! You are learning something new each day, I don't know who enjoys it more! LOVE you.

Near death experience!

J/K, It was no where near death. But it could have hurt someone pretty bad! Last night I was like a kid again and stayed out late with some girlfriends. When I got home I needed to unwind, and Ellery was wide awake. So we decided to hang out on the couch and watch some Tori and Dean. ( I know, but I got hooked!) Around 12:30 I hear this HUGE bang on my ceiling and I thought the people upstairs were being but heads. But then I look over and the ceiling fan above my kitchen table is hanging by a wire. I run and get Jason and he stands under the fan and barley touches it and it falls!!! He barley caught it, otherwise I'm sure my table would have some pretty ugly scratches!!

Jason is so mad, the fan was on, but it was on the lowest level. Could you imagine if it were going any faster and flew off, it could have been ugly!

On a better note, here is my cute little girl!

Best Buds!

We had a fun weekend playing with our little friend Madelyn. I say "little friend" she's actually 3 months older than Porter but is so petite. These two play so well together. I love when Porter has friends over to play, he has so much fun. It is so fun to see them interact with one another and to see what they think is "funny"!

I gave them each a cup of goldfish crackers but instead of eating out of their own cup, they shared one, and moved on to the next!
They were laying with pillows on the floor, just laughing at each other. Too cute!!
We love playing with our friend Madelyn. It's a good thing she likes to play with cars too!
Too funny, here is a picture with (Leah) Porter and Madelyn almost a year ago, it is CRAZY how much they have grown in that amount of time!! (Don't you love Porter's RED socks, he he!)

Why I blog...My kids!

I would like to start with a quote that perfectly explains the reason I blog.......
"I blog for selfish reasons. I don't scrapbook. I don't journal. I rarely even print my pictures. My blog is my way of keeping track of our lives. I will warn you now, the majority of the things written here will probably bore you. There will be MANY pictures and LOTS of things about my children that you couldn't care less about. Read on!"

I saw this on someones blog and could not have said it better myself! The only thing I would add would be, this is for our grandmas! Because some of the things on here, are things that only a grandma would love! So if you would like...READ ON!

The kids room is finally the way I want it! It isn't very easy living in a 2 bedroom apartment with 4 people and all of there things. Some very nice friends in our ward are letting us borrow their crib until Porter gets a big boy bed (which is not for a while)! I found this white book shelf at Good Will for $1.99 and could not pass it up. So now both kids have their own crib and their own book shelf. YEAH!
I am hoping that Ellery will be moving into her room in the next month or two. As soon as she sleeps in until at least 7:00 am. She is almost there, she goes to bed around 9:00pm and gets up around 6-6:30am!
And what's a post with out my adorable kids!

THE DECISION

I am very happy with the decision, he always looks super handsome after I cut his hair! However, in this picture he looks like a grump. I made the mistake of telling him it was time to go "bye-bye" and then started taking pictures. This boy loves to get out of the house! Thanks for all your help!

Ellery

2 months old!

This is Ellery's "Ellery" quilt. My mom went to find the fabric for it, and yellow and pink polka-dot fabric is from the "Ellery" line of fabrics! My mom even put in a small tag from the fabric that says Ellery. It was meant to be!

What to DO?

Porter has the most FRUSTRATING HAIR ever! I don't even know the best way to describe it. It has a wave to it, and a few crazy cowlicks, pretty right? Not really! And to add to it he has quite the forehead. I love my little boy more than anything, and think he is the cutest boy ever. But he did not score in the hair department! So here's the question, keep on cutting it short or grow it out?
In this first picture it is kinda long, but if I were to grow it out I would let it get longer than that. And the other picture is just after a hair cut. WHAT DO I DO?

Help!! Please!!! What do I do with it?

lunch time

Normally when I tell Porter it's time for lunch he gets so excited and goes and stands next to his high chair. Not today, he decided that he is a big boy and thought it was a good idea to go and sit on my chair. He was so proud of himself, and it was too cute not to let him stay and have lunch there!!

I love when kids learn new things. When lunch was over Porter reached over and grabbed my bowl, and when he did my fork and bowl made a loud "clanking noise" he thought this was SO FUNNY! He then proceeded to take my fork and try and make that noise with his plastic bowl, which obviously didn't work. So he came back to my bowl and thought it was the funniest thing. This lasted quite some time. I love my little discoverer! (P.S. don't mind the dirty dishes, and I promise that Porter had more to eat than the Nilla Wafers left in his bowl.)

Randomness!

I just figured Porter was past the stage to fall asleep eating, this week he proved me wrong. He fell asleep with sandwich in hand!
I have been waiting for Porter to get on the talking train for quite some time. I know he understands what we say. It's a little frustrating to see and hear other kids his age talking away. I am not worried about his development AT ALL. He jabbers all day long and does say some words, and he understand almost everything we say and ask him to do.
Most of his little friends who I see, and I'm talking about are little girls, who tend to advance a little faster than boys anyway. But I have still been waiting for it to kick in. My friend Mary said when Porter decides to talk it will be in sentences. This past week his communication has been growing tons. Before when we would try and teach him how to say something he wouldn't give us the time of day, it was almost like he was frustrated with us for trying to teach him. Now he will listen to us and will even attempt to say some things. But my friend Mary was kind of right! His new favorite thing to say is "Where is it?" not just a word, but a phrase! He holds his hands up (like I do when I ask him) and says "Where is it?" Don't get me wrong it is adorable when he says it, but his favorite time to say is it at night when he CHUCKS his binki out of his crib and we walk in and he says "Uh-Oh, where is it?"
Last but not least......
SMILE!!
What a good big brother who loves to lay on his sister! (Catch the sarcasm please!)

And I'm PROUD to be an AMERICAN.......

Happy 4th ya'all! I love being patriotic, It's the one day of the year I "make" my husband dress up with the family! I even think he got a few compliments on matching with Porter yesterday.

We went to a parade in the morning, I insisted because I love parades and I thought Porter would love it too.
Lets just say he hated the fire engines! He did not like the fire engines at all (really just the sirens and horns), he was literally climbing on Jason, the poor thing. Every time he saw something "red" coming down the street he kinda freaked out. Other than that he really did enjoy the parade.
Ellery just hung out on the blanket in the shade.
Just laying around waiting for the fireworks to start!

(This picture doesn't have anything to do with the fireworks, I just love when Porter "talks" on the phone, he is so serious. We like to joke that he is making very IMPORTANT business calls!)
They weren't the greatest fireworks I have ever seen. My favorite part of fireworks is hearing the loud BOOMS and such. I would have liked to be up closer to hear them, but sometimes I have to remind myself that I have little children and it's okay to watch the fireworks from farther away.
(Even though you can't see the fireworks in this picture, I still thought it was sweet.)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

TO BE CONTINUED....

I'm lovin' life!

She's getting so BIG, I swear she weighs over 13 pounds by now and I LOVE IT!! I just thought she looked pretty darn cute today. Her aunt Haylee gave her this cute little skirt and it is a size 6 month, that's right you read correctly 6 month!
She smiles now! Not very often though, she is pretty stingy when it comes to smiling. Here are some pictures of her "almost" smiling.

Porter wanted to come get in on the action.
I told him to give her a kiss, and he sometimes confuses "kisses" with "blowing kisses". He ended up putting his had up to HER mouth and saying MMMMM...AAHHH! So she ended up giving him kisses instead, too CUTE!
Some more of my cute little Ellers!

Have a good day :P
